A Picture of a Picture

Yesterday Buddy drew a picture of an airplane:

I know, who takes a picture of her 4 year old's picture? Four year olds draw pictures all the time.

That's true, 4 year olds - even 3 year olds - draw pictures all the time.

But Buddy doesn't.

In fact this is the first picture he's drawn that doesn't consist of a few half-hearted squiggly lines and shaky circles.

It's a picture that's the result of hours of occupational therapy and hard work.

Which makes it a picture worthy of a picture.

  1. This gave me shivers. Since you can't frame it, I would have done the same thing you do. And then I would frame it and hang it in my home.

    Way to go, Buddy!

  8. If a picture is worth 1000 words, a picture of a picture is worth... at least double?? In this case, I definitely think so! :)

  12. Hi, Kristen! I am here from ICLW as well. I was drawn to your blog, because your family is a lot like mine. We also have two adopted children, and we are also a transracial family but my children were adopted domestically and they are both Black. I am from Ecuador and my husband is from here so we are a veritable hodge-podge. To top it all we are a bilingual family! Anyway, I'm glad I stopped by. I love to read about the joys of other adoptive families. Best wishes!
